Police: Suspect shot after pointing gun at officers

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police shot a man after they say he pointed a gun at them during a foot chase in north Philadelphia.

Investigators say it happened just after 6:30 p.m. Thursday.Authorities say two plainclothes officers in an unmarked car were on patrol when they saw a man they believed was wanted in a shooting and had three warrants. The man took off when officers approached him and the chase ended when police say he pointed a gun at them.The man was shot in the legs and torso by one of the officers and is in stable condition at a hospital.Authorities didn't immediately identify the man who was shot or the officers involved in the incident.
