Firefighters from Franklin Township responded to a brush fire late Friday morning along Maury Road.

The fire was reported about 11 a.m. along a PPL high power line at the border of Franklin and Penn Forest townships.

Firemen used water tanks and rakes to quell the flames being fanned by high winds.

The National Weather Service says there is an elevated risk of fires today because of the high winds and dry conditions.
