Blue Mountain Resort announces end of 2015-16 season

Blue Mountain Resort plans to the end their season this weekend, but not before one last blast of winter.

The Resort plans to fire up the snow guns one last time tonight and Saturday night, before the trails close for the season on Sunday.Stop by the Resort for a rail jam, discounted lift tickets, specials and entertainment at Slopeside Pub & Grill, and end the weekend with their annual Pond Skim event.The Resort will boast fresh snow for excellent slope conditions for the 2016 Grateful Shred Rail Jam, hosted on Summit School Hill on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Anyone interested in participating can register from 8-10 a.m. in the Alpine Room, and practice from 10-11 a.m.Open to guys, gals, and kid snowboarders and skiers, the event is free to register and participants can win cool prizes and cash.Even though the Resort decided to close this week in an effort to preserve the slopes' conditions, it reopened its doors Friday.The Resort will honor the $17 six-hour lift ticket that was advertised for St. Patrick's day. In addition, guests who are looking to hit the slopes one last time can enjoy discounts and hours this weekend.Today (Friday), from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., guests can receive $17 six-hour lift ticket; $45 Ski, Ride, and Unwind - all day ticket and $15 food voucherFrom 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, guests can receive a $55 Ski, Ride, and Unwind - all day ticket and $15 food voucher; a $40 six-hour lift ticket; and a $25 night ticket from 4-8 p.m.The Pond Skim event, originally scheduled for Sunday, has been switched to Saturday. It will run from 1-4 p.m.Registration will be held in the Alpine Room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those age-17-and-under must have a parent or guardian sign their release.Participants who skim across the pond located on the Vista Trail will win a free T-shirt.In addition to the event, the Resort is inviting guests to make a monetary or nonperishable food donation to the Shepherd House, Inc. Those who make a donation will be entered to win fun prizes, including Neff beanies, an Arbor snowboard, gift cards, and more.From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, guests can receive a $55 Ski, Ride, and Unwind - all day ticket and $15 food voucher; a $40 six-hour lift ticket; and a $25 last-run ticket from 1-5 p.m.
