Police: Chemicals at Washington Twp. suicide scene prompt hazmat response

SLATINGTON, Pa. (AP) — State police say chemicals used by a man to kill himself prompted a hazardous materials incident in eastern Pennsylvania.

Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim says the results of Friday's autopsy on 22-year-old H. Vaughn Michael Reese are pending toxicology tests.But troopers from the Bethlehem barracks say Reese used unspecified chemicals to kill himself. Police were called Thursday afternoon after a relative found the man's body in a home in Washington Township, near Slatington.Police evacuated part of the neighborhood as a result. No injuries were reported.The incident occurred about 70 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
