The purchase of additional cameras to complete its high school security camera project will cost Northern Lehigh School District over $20,000.
That's after the school board on Monday authorized the purchase of 43 additional Axis IP security cameras from integraOne, at a cost of $20,373.The cameras will be purchased through the COSTARS bidding program.Also on Monday, the board granted administration permission to enter into an agreement with Hilltop Sales & Service Inc., to purchase a John Deere tractor with loader and deck mower attachments at state contract pricing, at a cost of $63,170.Other actionIn other business, the board:• Authorized administration to enter into a three-year agreement with Pediatric Therapeutic Services to provide contracted speech and occupational therapists on an as-needed basis, at a cost of $70 per hour for speech, and $68 per hour for occupational therapists for the 2016-17 school year, $71 per hour for speech, and $69 per hour for occupational therapists for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years.• Adopted the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit's Notice of Adoption of Policies, Procedures, and Use of Funds by School District for submission with the 2016-17 IDEA B, Section 611 project application.• Authorized the superintendent to execute an agreement between the school district and the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 to provide special education services for the 2016-17 school year.• Approved the second reading of various board policies.• Approved the request of Slatington Elementary School to close its SuperFresh, Dollar General, Target funds, Assemblies, Principal fund, and McGraw Hill fund accounts with zero balances due to no activity.• Granted the high school Patriot Club permission to travel to Washington, D.C., May 20-21. The cost of the trip will be funded by the student members of the Patriot Club.
