Big names coming to Penn's Peak
Robin Trower’s story started in the mid ’60s when he began his recording career in the rhythm and blues band the Paramounts. But the first time Trower truly surfaced on rock ’n’ roll’s radar was in 1967, with Procol Harum. He completed five albums and many tours with them before breaking away for a solo career in 1971.
Trower, known as an axman’s axman, is coming to Penn’s Peak at 8 p.m. April 22.Trower live is an experience not to be missed. You will walk away smiling.Joining Trower that night will be the Mikey Junior Blues BandRandy BachmanRandy Bachman brings his songs and stories to Penn’s Peak at 8 p.m. April 23.In a rare and intimate setting, Bachman weaves together the iconic hits of the Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive with the often-humorous stories that brought the songs to life.Inspired by his award-winning radio program “Vinyl Tap,” Bachman takes his master storytelling and voluminous musical knowledge on the road and takes fans on a retrospective of his career.A visual backdrop illustrating his legendary rock ’n’ roll journey will accompany each song, giving viewers a historical glimpse into one of Canada’s greatest musical ambassadors.The man who is often referred to as the “architect of Canadian rock ’n’ roll” has earned over 120 gold and platinum album/singles awards around the world.His songwriting has garnered him the #1 spot on radio play lists in over 20 countries, and he has amassed over 40 million records sold.Joining Bachman will be the trio of Brent Howard, Marc LaFrance and Mick Dalla-Vee, who have been performing together for over 20 years.Josh TurnerMultiplatinum MCA Nashville recording artist Josh Turner will perform at Penn’s Peak at 8 p.m. April 29.Turner is one of country music’s most recognizable hitmakers. With a rich, deep voice and distinctive style, he has sold more than 12 million units, is a disciple of traditional country music and one of the youngest members of the Grand Ole Opry.Turner has garnered multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM nominations.He has also added author to his list of accomplishments.
