A total of 21 Times News Area wrestlers made it to the semifinals, with many more still alive in the consolation bracket.

Northern Lehigh led the way after the first night of competition at Freedom High School with a total of six wrestlers moving on to the semifinals. Northwestern wasn't far behind, with five advancing to the semis, while Lehighton had four move on and Panther Valley, three, respectively.

Jim Thorpe, Palmerton and Tamaqua all have one wrestler still with a shot at gold.

In Class AAA, Pleasant Valley advanced two entrants into the semifinals, led by the senior duo of Jason Jacobi (132) and Trent Thomas (220).
