HEART event tonight

Dinner will be served in McCawley Hall from 5 to 8 p.m. The meal includes fish, soup, salad bar, beverages, and dessert. Fresh baked cod is available for an additional cost as is pizza for children as an option to fish. No tickets will be sold in advance, simply pay at the door.Effort pantryThe food pantry at Effort UMC will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.This ministry is an outreach serving the communities of Effort, Gilbert, Kunkletown, Kresgeville, Brodheadsville, Saylorsburg, Sciota and Albrightsville for helping feed families going through emergency or other short term situations that are not eligible for local, county or state programs. It is limited to a 12-week lifetime duration per family. a valid driver's license or state ID with address proving residency in the West End is required.Trifecta visitThe Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville welcomes guests from Trifecta Kennels and their program on responsible dog ownership at 1 p.m. Saturday.This program is free and open to the public; registration isn't required but strongly encouraged. To reserve seats call the library at 570-992-7934.Polar PlungeCamp Papillon will hold a polar plunge at noon Saturday at Camp Papillon Animal Shelter, 126 Brainerd Lane, Stroudsburg,which is in the Snydersville area. Jumpers need a sponsorship of $100.Kat of Willow Tree Inn of Stroudsburg is catering lunch at the Camp Volunteer Recreation Room.
