Shane James Perschy, 40, of Palmerton, was placed on probation Tuesday in Carbon County court for a year on a charge of criminal mischief he previously admitted to.

He was charged by Palmerton police with damaging a laptop computer belonging to his ex-girlfriend on Oct. 10, 2015, at 174 First St.Judge Steven R. Serfass also ordered restitution of $899.99 to the victim, Perschy to render 50 hours of community service, pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per months supervision fee while on probation. Perschy claimed the victim is no longer seeking restitution, but the judge ruled the probation office will determine if that is true.
