Designated parishes throughout the Allentown Diocese will hold special 24 Hours for the Lord services on March 4 and 5.

These special services were the idea of Pope Francis who stated in the "Misericordiae Vultus" ("The Face of Mercy") that he would like for March 4 to 5 to be set aside as "24 Hours for the Lord."During this 24 hours, priests will be available for the sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation while Eucharistic adoration is being held. Benediction will be held at the closing of adoration. Some churches will also hold Stations of the Cross.Carbon CountyIn Carbon County, eight churches will each take a specific time period to offer Eucharistic adoration with benediction, and Penance and Reconciliation.
