Two Monroe residents killed in weekend crashes

Two Monroe County residents were killed in crashes this weekend.

According to the Lehigh County Coroner's office, Geraldine S. Beldo, 54, of Tobyhanna, died Sunday as a results of injuries from a crash on Interstate 80 Saturday.

She was pronounced dead at 4:31 a.m. Sunday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. She was the driver of a vehicle that struck a tree.

The incident occurred at mile marker 20.3 in Allamuchy Township, New Jersey.

The coroner's office and the New Jersey state police are conducting the investigation.

The coroner also said Antoni Alvarado, Of Dogwood Lane, Saylorsburg, was pronounced dead at 3:25 a.m. today at St. Luke's Hospital-Bethlehem as a result of a crash Saturday night on Route 33.

The incident occurred Saturday, at 9:30 pm, on Route 33, southbound, at mile marker 9.5 in Stockertown. The coroner said. Alvarado was a passenger of the motor vehicle in collision with another motor vehicle, then rolled over.

The Lehigh County Coroner's office and the Pennsylvania State Police are conducting the investigation.
