Former WWE diva pleads guilty

A former World Wrestling Entertainment diva pleaded guilty last week in the county court to three driving under the influence charges.

She entered a plea to drunken driving before Judge Joseph J. Matika.Tamara Lynn Sytch, 43, of Palmerton, admitted to driving drunk on May 30, June 1 and June 20, 2015.Formerly known as WWE Diva "Sunny," Sytch also pleaded to driving while under suspension-DUI related.The first arrest occurred along Route 443 when she was stopped by Mahoning Township police. A test showed 0.25 BAC.The second arrest was by state police at Lehighton along Route 209 in Lehighton. According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Trooper Jonathan Lazarchick of the Pennsylvania State Police:At 9:35 a.m. June 1, Lazarchick was traveling north on Interchange Road when he observed a brown Dodge Caliber to be traveling in front of him.Lazarchick said he saw the car cross the solid center yellow lines several times. He then saw the vehicle cross into the opposite lane of travel.When he stopped her at 10510 Interchange Road, Lazarchick said she was unable to provide a driver's license and proof of insurance. He identified her through a records check.Lazarchick said Sytch's eyes were bloodshot and glassy, and she smelled like alcohol.Lazarchick saw 12 bottles labeled Coors Light on the floor of the passenger side of the vehicle. He said one was open, and a cap was lying on the passenger side floor next to the bottle.Sytch said she was on her way to the store to purchase eggs and milk, and that she had been drinking the night before.Lazarchick said Sytch was slurring her words, and asked her to get out of her vehicle to perform a field sobriety test.Lazarchick said Sytch was having a difficult time attempting to put her flip-flops on her feet. As Sytch got out of her car, Lazarchick saw her stagger, attempt to keep her balance, and use her vehicle to help her balance.Her blood-alcohol content was 0.3 percent. At the time her license was under suspension-DUI related.DUI crashIn the next incident, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Cpl. Shawn Noonan of the Pennsylvania State Police:Sytch's 2008 Dodge Caliber ended up in a ditch at the intersection of Gun Club Road and Forest Inn Road in Towamensing Township at 10:40 p.m. June 20.Noonan talked to Sytch, who said her GPS told her to make a sudden turn.She said she took the turn too wide and ended up in the ditch. She said she tried to back the car out of the ditch but it would not move.Noonan said he detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and she also had glassy, bloodshot eyes and her speech was slurred.Noonan asked Sytch to perform field sobriety tests, but she said she was in too much pain due to her recently blacking out and falling down the steps.Noonan placed her under arrest for DUI and transported her back to the barracks for a breath test. The results of her test were 0.078 percent.Police said Sytch didn't have a valid driver's license in any state.In the newsShe achieved her greatest success under the ring name Sunny within the World Wrestling Federation during the 1990s.She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011. She also performed under her real name in Extreme Championship Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling and Ring of Honor. Recently, Sytch offered her WWE Hall of Fame ring for sale on eBay.Sytch got the ring in 2011 when she was inducted, but said she's ready to turn the page on her pro wrestling days. She offered it for an opening bid of $3,000.Vivid Entertainment, known for its celebrity sex tapes, this week released, "Sunny Side Up," starring Sytch.Matika deferred sentencing so Sytch could obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and also apply for the county's Intermediate Punishment Program - house arrest. She was told she faces mandatory prison terms on two of the counts. She is scheduled to be sentenced March 28.
