ALLENTOWN (AP) - Authorities say a woman struck and killed by a sport utility vehicle last week in eastern Pennsylvania is believed to have been walking home from work.
The Lehigh County coroner's office on Sunday identified the victim of Friday's accident as 53-year-old Melody Johnson of Easton.
Police said she had just left her job at a health services company in Wilson Borough when she was struck shortly after 3:30 p.m. Friday. She was pronounced dead about five hours later at St. Luke's Hospital-Fountain Hill.
Sgt. Christopher Meehan said in a statement that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the accident, but no charges were immediately filed.
