Firefighters from Carbon and Northampton counties are on the scene of a working dwelling fire in Bowmanstown.

The fire was first reported just after 1 p.m. in a home at 322 White St.The fire appeared to have initiated in or near the masonry chimney and may have traveled to the area of the roof and nearby walls.Fire officials have requested the American Red Cross to the scene.No injuries were reported in the incident.Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.
