Panhandling couple cited for public drunkenness

A Tamaqua couple has been cited after an incident in the borough on Jan. 25.

Tamaqua police received numerous reports concerning Valerie K. Nattress, 35, and Daniel M. Waldron, 33, both of 403 E. Broad St.Callers said the duo was panhandling in the area of the Wine and Spirits Store and Domino's Pizza.Waldron attempted to enter the cars of the pizza delivery drivers and was banned from the pizza shop.An officer found the couple in the area of Mauch Chunk Street and issued them a warning, advising them to go home.Later they were seen on Broad Street. Waldron was so intoxicated he kept falling to the ground, dragging Nattress with him. The officer transported him to his home.Once at his residence Waldron refused to go inside, falling again. Nattress unsuccessfully attempted to drag him indoors.At that point the officer decided to take Waldron to the police station to sleep it off.Nattress refused to let him go, earning her a trip to the station too.She was cited for disorderly conduct. He was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
