A man was rescued from the Appalachian Trail just before 7 p.m. Thursday by search crews in Lynn Township.

Fire companies from four Lehigh County communities responded.

Rescuers entered the trail off Route 309 in Lynn Township setting up in the parking lot of the Blue Mountain Summit.

The man was treated at the scene by Cetronia paramedics and transported to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center.
