As of 6 p.m. tonight the following municipalities have enacted a snow emergency within their jurisdiction. This action is taken to ensure that the public works road crews and state agency plow trucks will not be impeded by vehicles parked along specific streets and highways. This municipal action does not prohibit travel; however, we hope that all persons exercise extreme caution and common sense if they must travel during this period.

Frackville Borough

Girardville Borough

Mahanoy City Borough

Ringtown Borough

Saint Clair Borough

Schuylkill Haven Borough

City of Pottsville

The rules regarding snow emergencies vary by municipality. Residents of these areas should check with local officials, municipal websites or street signage.

Schuylkill County EMA will continue to monitor the situation with the impending storms and work with our municipalities, emergency services and community partners.
