Two people were injured in an early morning crash Sunday in Lehighton.

The incident occurred at 5:30 a.m. on the McCall bridge near the intersection of Routes 209 and 443. Police report a man from Tobyhanna was operating a late model van north on Route 209 mounting the bridge. As he entered the bridge he did not maintain his lane of travel crossing over three lanes impacting with a vehicle operated by a Lehighton woman driving south on Route 209.

Both drivers were treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics and transported to area hospitals. Lehighton fire police closed down the McCall bridge rerouting the traffic around the scene. Lehighton police are investigating the incident.
