Tamaqua police have cited Matthew Hedrick, 37, of 219 Market St., Tamaqua, after a domestic incident on Dec. 20.

Officers were dispatched to the home at 5:30 a.m. after the Schuylkill County Communications Center received a call from a neighbor's house. The call was made by one of Hedrick's family members.At the scene officers spoke with Hedrick, who said he was sleeping and had no idea why police were called to his door. When asked about the family member who made the call the man checked and discovered that person was missing. A woman then came from a back room, admitting she had sent someone to the neighbor's to call police. The woman's lips were swollen, with dried blood caked around her mouth. She told the officer she was struck by Hedrick.Hedrick was charged with indirect criminal contempt for violating a protection from abuse order that was issued to the victim on Nov. 12 by Schuylkill County Judge Jacqueline Russell.
