Tamaqua Police have cited Chelsea Lynn Walters, 22, of 175 Orwigsburg St., Tamaqua, with felony charges of retail theft.

Walters was in the Family Dollar Store at 125 Center St., Tamaqua, at 11:22 a.m. on Dec. 12. She purchased several items, but when she attempted to exit the store, an audible alarm sounded. Walters immediately removed a bottle of Axe body wash from her pocket. When she tried to leave, the alarm sounded again. This time, she took a package of markers from her pocket.When the alarm went off the third time, Walters fled, leaving behind the items she did purchase.She has two previous retail theft convictions, pushing this offense to the felony level.
