State police at the Fern Ridge barracks arrested a Lehighton man on charges of aggravated assault following an incident that happened between 3 and 3:26 p.m. Dec. 9 on Route 209, between Dairy and Glen lanes in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said they charged Matthew Darryl Muchmore, 47, of Lehighton.The victim is a 24-year-old woman from Albrightsville.Police said the victim and Muchmore were involved in argument due to some missing money.Police said the man got so upset that he allegedly slammed on the brakes of his vehicle in an attempt to make the victim slam her head/face off the dashboard. When the attempt failed and the victim threatened to call police, Muchmore allegedly took a pistol from the center console of the vehicle and pointed it her.
