WILKES-BARRE (AP) - It didn't take long to become the warmest Christmas Eve on record in one northeastern Pennsylvania town, and high temperature records were expected to fall or be threatened in Philadelphia and other parts of the state.

It was 63 degrees at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Airport before dawn, breaking the record of 62 degrees set in 1933. The National Weather Service says the high temperature will be about 70 there, and even warmer in Philadelphia where a high expected in the low 70s should also break a record.Pittsburgh saw a record high of 64 degrees on Wednesday - also breaking a record set in 1933 - and the city could see another record on Christmas Eve if temperatures climb into the high 60s.Record challenging high temperatures are also expected across much of Pennsylvania on Christmas.
