A juvenile pedestrian was injured after being struck on two separate occasions by a pair of vehicles Wednesday night in Weissport.
Lehighton State Police said the first incident occurred at around 5:26 p.m. as the pedestrian attempted to cross Bridge Street in the area of 112.The pedestrian entered the eastbound lane of travel and was struck by a 2001 Hyundai Sonata, before coming to rest in the westbound lane of Bridge Street.The Sonata came to final rest in the east bound lane of Bridge Street, with disabling damage to the windshield on the driver side.The juvenile was then struck for a second time by a 2008 Ford Edge while lying in the westbound lane on Bridge Street at its intersection with Park Street.The vehicle then fled the scene traveling west on Bridge Street.The pedestrian was then transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital by Lehighton EMS with unknown injuries.Police have not released the name or age of the victim.In the first incident, the driver was not charged. The Sonata was towed from the scene by All Points Towing.
