A Carbon County man has been charged with retail theft.

Mahoning Township Police Department said that on Oct. 28 at 3:11 a.m. a retail theft occurred at Walmart.Loss prevention reported a man had stolen a generator valued at $517.28.As a result of the investigation, John Steskal, 47, of Palmerton, has been charged with retail theft, a misdemeanor.A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 13.
