Community meal

A free community meal will be served from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton.The menu will be baked ham, pineapple filling, sweet potato casserole, and Christmas cookies for dessert.All are invited to join together for a meal and fellowship.Last month's donations of $97 were given to the local food pantry.Book clubThe book club which meets at St. John's United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7 (note the change of date).The book they will discuss is "The Christmas Train" by David Baldacci. They also will be enjoying their annual cookie exchange.
