The Colts take the lead with 10 seconds to play on a Jim Mansell basket but the Tigers, coached by Steve Gabryluk, pull out the contest on Metrick's clutch shot. Kevin Lenhart paces Northwestern with 18 points while John Mullen chips in with eight. Marian receives a game-high 21 points from Eddie McLaughlin.
