Laura J. Catina, 28, of Effort, sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 10:08 a.m. Saturday on Mountain View Drive in Polk Township, according to state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Police said she was driving a 2011 GMC Terrain north and was attempting to negotiate a right curve in the roadway and she lost control of the Terrain. The vehicle traveled off the roadway onto the east berm where its passenger’s side front end struck a utility pole located about 6 feet off the berm. After the initial impact, the vehicle traveled another 8 feet and damaged property located at 107 Mountain View Drive, coming to final rest facing north about 6 feet off the east berm of the roadway.Police said she was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
