Carbon County Special Olympic athletes Matt Anthony and Delina Rodrigues thank members of the Jim Thorpers, from left, Lisa Chapman, Mike Dugan and Maureen Foster, for their $1,500 donation to the Special Olympics. Sixty-six riders from the Jim Thorpe area and beyond participated in the Irish Pub Tour de Shore, a fundraising bicycle ride from Philadelphia to Atlantic City in July. Because the team raised more than $26,000, the organizers of the Tour de Shore sent money back to the Jim Thorpe area to be donated locally. BOB FORD/TIMES NEWS
