Vehicles hit deer on Interstate

No one was injured when a 2014 Toyota 4D struck a deer that had entered its path on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township at 8:02 p.m. Sunday.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said Minchang Cai, 21, of Herkimer, New York, was westbound when the incident happened. The front end of the vehicle (hood and radiator) struck the animal, after which time the vehicle stopped in the middle of the left lane of the interstate before being guided onto the left berm.Police said the vehicle sustained disabling damages and needed to be towed from the scene.In another report, police said a 2007 Subaru Legacy operated by Sarah K. Rieder, 31, of Gouldsboro, struck a deer at 5:36 p.m. Sunday on the interstate in Pocono Township, causing front-end damages to the car.She was also uninjured.
