A Lehighton man was flown to a Lehigh Valley hospital following a stabbing incident Thursday night.

Borough police officer Robert DeFuso said the incident occurred at 5:41 p.m. in S. Center Alley.DeFuso said police were notified by a man who reported that he was stabbed after being approached by a man who was attempting to rob him of money.The condition of the victim, a 38-year-old man, is unknown, DeFuso said. Police have not released his identity.Also assisting at the scene were Pennsylvania State Police, he said.DeFuso said the matter remains under investigation.Anyone with information is asked to contact the borough police department at 610-377-4003.
