A Tamaqua man wanted in connection with a July 22 armed robbery was picked up by McAdoo police on Oct. 14.
Gary Cieniawa, 26, of 321 Washington St., and a co-conspirator, Ryan Samuel Fulton, 22, reportedly assaulted a man in the area of the railroad tracks near the train station.The incident was reported at 10:37 p.m. as an assault in progress. When police arrived both assailants had fled.The victim was lying on the tracks suffering from scratches and scrapes to his left arm and stomach.He told police one of the attackers held a knife to his neck while the two men took his backpack and cash.The victim knew Fulton and a witness was able to identify Cieniawa.After being arrested, Cieniawa was arraigned before District Judge David Rossi, of Tremont, on charges of armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, robbery, theft by unlawful taking, harassment and disorderly conduct.Bail was set at $50,000 straight, earning him a trip to the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville.Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Fulton is asked to contact police at 570-668-5000.
