A $3.3-million housing complex was officially opened during a ribbon-cutting ceremony held in Tamaqua.The facility, which features 14 loft apartments, is located at 401 Hazle St., the site of the former Tamaqua Boot and Shoe Factory.The 1875 brick industrial complex was put to reuse under the operation and directorship of the Alliance for Building Communities, Allentown, which benefited from a $598,000 Penn Homes loan, $1.7 million in Pennsylvania Housing and Finance Agency tax credits, $150,000 in general partners equity and $250,000 in Department of Community and Economic Development funds.
