East Penn write-in campaign

Steven Heckman has announced his bid as a write-in candidate for East Penn Township supervisor.

Heckman seeks to earn enough write-in votes for the two-year position of township supervisor.Heckman, along with his wife and two daughters, is proud to call East Penn Township home.Heckman is a local territory and accounts manager with a Caterpillar equipment dealership. His wife is employed by the Lehighton School District, where she works at East Penn Elementary School.Heckman said he believes the township is coming apart at the seams with its deteriorating roadways, poor infrastructure and high taxes. He believes his job has given him the knowledge and experiences of working with other local governments, and that he has a vast knowledge of roads and the know-how to maintain and repair them.Heckman also possesses a business and marketing background, both of which he believes will be useful within this position. His job has also provided him many experiences seeing how other municipalities and boroughs achieve a lot of results with very little funding and manpower. If elected to the position, Heckman said he will bring a new face and ideas to the township with a level of caring, knowledge and professionalism that he believes is currently lacking in the local government. He plans to do this with no agendas, and for the best interests of the people of East Penn Township.Heckman hopes to meet with votes to discuss the future of East Penn Township on Nov. 3 at the voting booths, and will be glad to show them how to complete a write-in vote for the two-year term of township supervisor.
