The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company announced the firm will close its Slatington Main Street store upon completion of business at 6 p.m. Saturday. According to company officials, the methods of retailing have undergone many changes during the years they have operated at the Slatington store, which operated under the management of Robert Dreisbach.In announcing the closing of the store, officials invited shoppers to visit the A & P stores still in operation in Tamaqua, Lehighton and Palmerton.
