Remembrance service planned

Tamaqua's Community 9/11 Remembrance Service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the South Ward Playground, located at Penn and Coal streets. This year's event will also pay tribute to the woman who was instrumental in creating the service, Cecilia "Jackie" Jones.Former Tamaqua Mayor Richard Hadesty will serve as the master of ceremonies and Pastor Ed Noftz will offer the invocation.The public is welcome to attend. Seating is limited, so bring your own lawn chair.
