A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following a one-vehicle crash that occurred early Wednesday evening. State police at Frackville said the crash occurred at 4:38 p.m. along Route 54, near Patriotic Hill in Mahanoy Township.

Troopers said Kimberly Lynn Hons, 35, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 1998 Honda Accord northbound when she lost control while negotiating a left curve. The car traveled onto the east berm and struck a fence and concrete wall in front of the former St. Nicholas Breaker. Hons sustained minor injuries in the crash.Troopers said Hons told them she had been consuming alcohol before the crash and had smoked marijuana earlier in the day.She was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center, S. Jackson Street, Pottsville, for treatment of injuries. She also submitted to a blood test.Troopers said the DUI charge is pending the test results.
