One hurt in Hometown crash

One driver was injured in a two-car crash Wednesday in Hometown.

Emergency responders were dispatched about 3 p.m. to Claremont Avenue, Route 309 and TIDE Road, at the Walmart intersection.There, a Honda Element collided with a utility truck of Allied Well Drilling.The force of the collision snapped a front wheel from the car.The driver of the Honda was a woman. The truck driver was a male.The woman suffered what appeared to be a head injury and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.Hometown Fire Police directed heavy traffic on Farmers Market day and were able to keep lanes open.Also responding were Rush Township Police, Hometown Fire Company and Tamaqua Community Ambulance.Police are investigating and the names of the drivers and details of the crash were not available at press time.
