A fire that caused considerable damage to a home in Schuylkill Haven, has been ruled accidental.

A state police fire marshal determined that the fire at 204 St. John St., which was discovered about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, was accidental and originated within the kitchen area of the home. The fire is attributed to a short in a wire, Trooper Joseph Burns ruled.The fire caused estimated damages of $50,000. There were no injuries reported.
