August 5, 1992 Corey Sherer has a big day at the plate to help lead Franklin Township to a 12-4 win over McAdoo in the Panther Valley Little League Tournament. Sherer finishes 4-for-4 with two doubles, two home runs and seven RBIs. He drills a three-run homer in the third inning and adds a two-run shot in the sixth. Nate Hawk contributes three hits, one a double, to the winning effort while Joel Wamsley adds a pair of hits. Wamsley also gains the pitching win, striking out nine batters.
