AT&T customers report problems

AT&T customers in northeastern Pennsylvania have been having issues with service including outgoing calls going straight to voicemail, not receiving incoming calls and other problems.

"Service was restored Thursday evening for some customers in the northeastern Pennsylvania area affected by intermittent wireless voice issues. Technicians worked around the clock to resolve the issue and service is currently running normally. We apologize for this inconvenience," said spokeswoman Brandy Bell-Truskey.

She said AT&T is "currently investigating the root cause" of the disruptions.

Times News Facebook readers offered their experiences with the dusruptions.

Justin Smith wrote, "Here is the deal. I called AT&T and talked to a fellow named Richard. He said this issue started yesterday when two of the main towers went down. It caused all the towers from the Carolinas to Maine to go down. They are currently working on the towers in New York and Virginia to help fix the problems in Pennsylvania. Once those problems are resolved they will help aid Pennsylvania. They will then be moving into Pennsylvania to fix the towers here."

Tammy Smith wrote, "Yes for the last five days. They should give us credit on our bills."

Michele Walck Heckman wrote, "Very disgusted with AT&T. When they want their payment they want it now. But this ongoing problem is horrible. We should all get a deduction on our bill. This has also caused hardship because I use my phone for work also."

Kim Mockinick Kaczmarczyk wrote, "Dropped calls in the house. Not getting texts and people not receiving texts. Going right to voicemails. I call constantly and nothing is done but yet pay $289 a month."

Elizabeth A. Bartolai wrote, "I'm not able to use the phone for voice calls in all the locations I'd like to use it. My colleagues at work with Verizon are not having the any problems."
