In other business, the Lehighton school board voted on the following actions:
• approved an agreement with the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 to participate in the Discovery Education Streaming Basic, which provides a streaming digital video library in conjunction with Lehigh Valley PBS/WLVT for $1,003.62 for the 2016-16 school year.•approved an agreement with the Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission Inc. for drug and alcohol intervention services for the 2015-16 school year. The agreement will cost the district $7,000 for one day of service provided per week.• approved the CLIU contract for PowerSchool hosting and support through the 2016-17 school year at a cost of $58,802.50.• authorized a transfer of $4,911.63 from the general fund to the food service fund to close out the 2014-15 school year.• accepted the resignation of Jerilynn Derhammer, summer cleaner; Tyler Dietz, summer worker; Tami Hunsicker, part-time cleaner; Richard Hunsicker, utility custodian; and Sherry Andrews, lunch-time aide at Shull-David Elementary School.• accepted the resignation of Robert Barowski from the extracurricular positions of stage manager, student council and drama/theater, all at Lehighton High School.• approved the hiring of Louann Dietz, an English language arts teacher at Lehighton Middle School, starting at $41,875 at the start of the 2015-16 school year.
