A Carbon County driver was involved in a two-vehicle crash about 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Stockton Mountain and Club 40 roads, in Hazle Township, Luzerne County.

State police at Hazleton said Christopher H. Pitt, 38, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2004 Ford Focus southbound on Stockton Mountain Road while Amanda K. Spakowski, 23, of West Hazleton, was stopped at a stop sign on Club 40 Road driving a 1993 Ford Ranger pickup truck.Spakowski pulled into the intersection and was struck by Pitt's vehicle. Spakowski was injured and flown by medical helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Pitt was not injured. Both vehicles sustained heavy damages.Troopers cited Spakowski for the crash.
