A 61-year -old woman is dead after her home went up in flames Saturday morning in the village of Arnots Addition, New Castle Township.

The victim called the fire in at 6:30 a.m. reporting her home as well as herself were on fire.

When firefighters arrived on scene on the 300 block of Chestnut Street, the two story wood frame dwelling was fully involved in flames.

A dog and cat also died in the blaze.
