A Lansford man has been cited by Tamaqua police for stealing a cellphone.

Officers were contacted by the cellphone's owner on June 9, who said she had been at 322 Hazle St. and had placed her iPhone on a table, then went into another room. When she returned to the room, the cellphone was gone and Daniel Hollan, 32, of 43 E. Ridge St., Lansford, was leaving the home.A short time later, she used the "find my iPhone" app, which showed the phone at Hollan's residence. Efforts to reach Hollan were initially unsuccessful, but he returned the phone several days later. It was not in the same condition as it was when he took it.Hollan was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
