Fundraising site set up for boy who lost leg

A GoFundMe.com website has been set up for a 4-year-old Northampton boy who lost his leg during a mower accident Wednesday.

The fundraising page has been set up for Andy Hartman, whose leg was severed when he was struck by a tractor mower, according to Lehigh Township police.Police and Northampton Regional EMS responded to the 200 block of Walnut Drive around 7 p.m.According to police, the grass was wet and the child slid under the back of the lawn tractor.The tractor was running and the driver was backing up when the accident occurred.The leg was severed at the thigh, police said.Andy was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest for treatment.Tammy Troxell, an employee who works for Andy's father, Nate Hartman, said Friday morning that according to Andy's great-uncle, Dominic Hartman, Andy had a couple of surgeries Thursday and was in the pediatric intensive care."It's very emotional for me, because I have a son myself," Troxell said. (Andy) is a very happy-go-lucky little boy, and our thoughts and prayers are definitely with the family."Troxell said the goal to raise funds through the website has been increased to $2,000.Donations may be made by going to the site at
