West Penn Township police responded to a call of shots fired Wednesday night along the 200 block of Cold Spring Road just south of Route 443.

Area residents reported hearing the loud gun shots in a rapid fire along the roadway.

Several children and adults reported seeing a dark pickup drive from the area north to Route 443 where it turned east towards Carbon County. Some say they spotted the barrel of a gun from the side window.

Several spent casings were found along the roadway which were taken as evidence. West Penn Police were assisted at the scene by Mahoning Township police.
