State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating three burglaries that occurred in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.
Troopers said at 11:15 a.m. June 17 they were dispatched to the area 1000 Sugar Hollow Road, for a reported break-in of a summer home. The victim, Marcus Glyptis, 78, of New York, found his home had been entered and ransacked. Two chainsaws were stolen and multiple appliances and household items were vandalized.A second burglary was reported in the area of 3200 Hillcrest Drive in Saylorsburg by the owner. Entry was gained through an unsecured window. After failing to gain entry to a gun safe, the criminals fled the scene. Nothing was taken. The incident occurred sometime between 2:30 and 6 p.m. on Monday.Another burglary was reported in the area of 100 Longwoods Drive. Troopers responded to the home about 6:05 p.m. Monday when the victim, a 48-year-old female, found the home had been entered.Numerous jewelry items and a Glock 42, .380-caliber handgun was taken. The victim said the entry occurred sometime Monday between 7:50 a.m. and 5:55 p.m.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at 570-646-2271.
