Pleasant Valley students cited in paintball incident

A trio of Pleasant Valley High School students have been cited for criminal mischief after shooting a paintball gun inside the school earlier this month.

Nicholas Burke, 18, of Saylorsburg, and Wayne Schneider, 18, of Effort, along with a third individual, a juvenile, shot a paint gun in the hallways of the school, according to a citation written by the Pleasant Valley School District Police.

The citation says lockers and walls were shot in several hallways of the school at 4:40 a.m. June 5.

They have been charged with intentionally defacing property by discharging a paintball gun or marker.

Police said the cost to clean up the damage was $233.

All three are scheduled to have a summary trial at 10 a.m. July 16 before District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.
