John Vasko of Palmerton graduated summa cum laude with departmental distinction from Albright College on May 24 with a bachelor of science degree in psychobiology and a minor in evolutionary studies.
He had the highest GPA of the graduating class and was named a Jacob Albright Scholar.He was the advertising chair of Psi Chi, webmaster for Alpha Sigma Phi, co-editor in chief of The Albrightian, and member of both Alpha Epsilon Delta and Order of Omega.His activities included: teaching assistant for Research Design and Analysis, Academic Learning Center tutor, Berks Encore volunteer, Wernersville State Hospital volunteer, Lehigh Valley Center for Clinical Research and Berks Center for Clinical Research clinical intern, patient observer at BMHS and was the recipient of the Reading Community Hero Award.During his three years at Albright he presented at five psychological conferences along the East Coast including a prestigious national conference.His senior honors thesis focused on mindfulness therapy and how it affects metacognition.Vasko will be attending the University of Maryland's Master of Professional Studies in Clinical Psychological Science program in the fall.
