The six Carbon County rural school districts voted to form their own jointure, asking the Carbon County School Board to create a separate area after the Lehighton-Weissport Board announced no new pupils from outlying districts would be accepted at Lehighton High.
The districts are Mahoning, East Penn and Franklin townships, Packerton and Franklin Independent and Parryville borough.Attorney Albert Prutzman of Lehighton, solicitor for five of the districts, was charged with the duties of drawing up tentative articles of agreement covering the new jointure.
